They aim to equip the North West’s music leaders with the skills to deliver or manage music projects by providing bespoke training and networking events, as well as sign posting toward existing continuing professional development provision. MusicLeader North West is committed to increasing the impact, quality and value of Musical leadership. They aim to help Music Leaders actively develop their practice. The aim is to drive up standards in music teaching/delivery and consequently, increase pay and conditions for MusicLeaders.
Band On The Wall is is one of the cornerstones of Manchester's music scene for the greater part of the last century, it was at the centre of Manchester’s punk scene in the late 1970s when Buzzcocks, The Fall and Joy Division first played. Since then it has played host to many internationally acclaimed artists including Mica Paris, Bjork, Art Blakey, Carleen Anderson, John Martyn and countless others. Closed in 2005 for redevelopment, the venue opens in September 2009 with state-of-the-art new facilities and incorporates The Picturehouse in the adjacent building that will provide a new social space and host complimentary events throughout the year. Band on the Wall will be the new home for the Global Grooves short courses.
 Zion Arts Centre is the oldest surviving building in the area. Although not listed, it is a large and magnificent Edwardian building of outstanding architectural merit which has made a significant contribution to the social, educational and cultural life of Hulme and Manchester throughout most of this century.

The purpose of The Grassroots Fund is to encourage and support small local informal voluntary and community groups and organisations, many of whom are dependent on volunteers. This may be the first grant for many of the groups that apply to the Grassroots Fund.
The Grassroots Fund programme will be available for local organisations for a period of three years from summer 2008 to March 2011.
One Voice Music is an organisation established in 1996 to promote the teaching and performance of Afrobrazilian and Afrocuban percussion and dance in the UK. Manchester Jazz Festival "When we were putting together the very first festival back in late 1995, we really had no idea that the event would take off as it did, blossoming into an annual celebration of the region's talented, creative musicians that we now look forward to each year. We were initially a voluntary group of musicians, jazz fans and event organisers with the common goal of wanting to give Manchester a day of great music, demonstrating the wealth of jazz talent in the area".

Juba do Leão are a percussion and dance group from Manchester who specialise in the musical styles from the Northeast of Brazil, namely Maracatu.The group was founded by Maracatu enthusiast Holly Prest.
BLOCO NOVO are an exciting and dynamic group of drummers , dancers and community artists based in Openshaw, East Manchester. Their vibrant and funky Afro-Latin and global grooves will surprise and delight and audience! Their live set includes vocals and a variety of melodic acoustic and electro instruments.
